“HOOK UP” FOR NEW LIFESTYLE TV SERIES

“Hooked Up” Takes Viewers Into Majestic Rockies
with 20 Singles in Search of Love

(Toronto, December 1st , 2003) -- Lone Eagle Entertainment Ltd, producer of the hit Canadian TV series “Popstars”, and Alberta based Nomadic Pictures have co-produced a brand new lifestyle series about the quest for love for Craig Media, it was announced today by Lone Eagle Entertainment President Michael Geddes and Craig Media Vice President of Programming, Michael Taylor.

Hooked Up is a one-hour six-episode series that whisks 10 gorgeous women and 10 handsome men off on a journey to find their perfect mate. The show invites viewers to witness the rocky road of love, betrayal and intimate affairs in an unscripted and unpredictably wild series as 20 singles set a course for true love on a multi-week adventure in Canada’s Rocky Mountains. In the mountains, the charismatic men and women finally meet with the hope of making that “special” connection. They are, however, faced with the prospect that anything goes in the game of love.

Hooked Up introduces the group to an adventure of a lifetime that will force the singles to make gut-wrenching decisions. From speed dating to intimate evenings alone in back country lodges, the relationships become more complicated as the singles start to make strong emotional connections.

The Rocky Mountains provide the perfect backdrop for Hooked Up with great dating locales and breathtaking outdoor activities. Wild, romantic and adventure-filled days are the ingredients for great “one on one” time that allows cast members to experience love, lust, desire and heartbreak.

“Desire, heartbreak and envy are the buzzwords for Hooked Up and they are sure to peak the interest of Canadian viewers,” according to Geddes, who is Executive Producer and creator of the series. “Viewers can fully expect to see this hot new Canadian series sizzle on the airwaves. We are thrilled to be working with all of the A-Channel stations and Craig Media’s recently launched TORONTO 1 and a series that will be an exciting new 'Canadian-born' international format.

Producers Sue 'Bachelor' Bob Over CD

Guiney sought and was denied permission to promote '3 Sides.'

"The Bachelor" star Bob Guiney is being sued by the producers of the hit ABC series, who claim he breached his contract by selling his CD and promoting it in a music video, according to a lawsuit filed Friday in State Superior Court in Los Angeles.

In legal papers obtained by PEOPLE, "Bachelor" producer And Syndicated Productions charges that Guiney (the fourth and most recent bachelor) and his record company, Wind-up Records, have brought " damage (to) the series' valuable brand name and good will by engaging in unauthorized and widespread media promotion" of his new CD, " 3 Sides."

Stars of "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" sign contracts with exclusivity clauses that prohibit promoting any other products without permission, according to ASP's complaint, which also mentions that Guiney sought and was denied permission to promote the CD.

ASP, which asks that the 32-year-old Guiney be stopped " from participating in any further media appearances, commercials or advertisements not expressly authorized by ASP," further charges that Guiney and his label expect to make " windfall profit at ASP's expense, thereby diluting the value of Mr. Guiney's public image and tarnishing the series' goodwill and public esteem."

Presumably not helping matters is that Guiney reportedly has already split up with his "Bachelor" pick, Estella Gardinier, despite choosing her in the show's Nov. 18 finale.

The suit seeks unspecified financial damages. Guiney's lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment.

Melana Chooses Beauty over The "Average Joe"

Was anyone really stunned by Melana's choice last night? Color me unshocked. I expected her to choose Jason, although I was really really hoping in the end substance and smarts would win out over a "pretty-boy". Adam, the "Average Joe" that outlasted 15 other men to make it to the final two, is witty, goofy (but in a fun way), smart, and obviously very successful - not to mention the fact that he wasn't UNattractive, he just had an obstacle to meet in the form of Jason Peoples, the good-looking man that was brought in to "shake things up" on the show.

And that he did. Along with two other beautiful men, brought in midway to try and capture Melana's heart. After seeing both of their hometown's (where she learned that 28 year old Adam Mesh is a self-made millionaire), and spending two overnight dates with each, Melana chose Jason -- a guy that ordered a table full of drinks in order to "loosen her up" and get her to open up more about how she felt.

I wanted to believe that the "Average Joe" would get the girl, I think just about everyone that watched the show wanted to believe that. In the end, Melana and Jason boarded a private jet ready to take them to their destination (a tropical romantic paradise for two), while Adam boarded the bus that had taken away so many of his fellow "Average Joe's" before him. As Melana said, "Look at his [Jason's] eyes and smile, how could you not fall for him?" Talk about a no-brainer, literally.

But even though the romance "had to end" for Adam, that doesn't mean that a whole new round of "Average Joe" suitors won't get their chance to win the love of a beautiful lady. "Average Joe 2" has already been filmed (in the equally beautiful location of Hawaii, no less) and will premiere January 5th.

Trista and Ryan Tie the Knot

It's official: "Bachelorette" Trista Rehn and fireman Ryan Sutter tied the knot Saturday at 5 p.m. in a million-dollar wedding near Palm Springs, Calif., that will be televised on ABC this Wednesday, reports Reuters.

Among the 300 guests at the ceremony, held at the Lodge at Rancho Mirage (a hotel and resort about 120 miles east of Los Angeles), were a TV camera crew and some of the bride's former suitors from "The Bachelorette."

PEOPLE also reports that the recent "Bachelor" Bob Guiney and his prospective bride of choice, Estella Gardiner, were expected to attend the wedding together, despite rumors that they had broken up.

ABC bankrolled the ceremony, which cost somewhere in the seven figures, says PEOPLE. "Never ever would I have been able to afford this," Rehn, 31, a former physical therapist, told the magazine before the wedding.

Rehn wore a gown by Badgley Mischka and Sutter, a Kenneth Cole tuxedo. Guests reportedly were treated to a feast prepared by chef Fredric Nail that consisted of 200 pounds of shrimp, lobster and crab, not to mention 180 bottles of champagne and 600 bottles of wine.

Besides the big ratings anticipated by Wednesday's airing of the ceremony, the wedding also has generated a lawsuit by Rehn's former manager, Kevin Allyn, who claims she owes him a commission fee of $200,000 on the $1 million she earned from ABC for the wedding rights.

Rehn's attorney, Stanton "Larry" Stein tells Reuters that the legal suit was motivated by a desire to cause pain and embarrassment for Rehn but would only be a "a tiny little black cloud" at the wedding.

'Bachelorette' Trista's Ex-Agent Sues Her for $200,000
Plus, Meredith Phillips will be the next ''Bachelorette''

The something blue at Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter's wedding may be her former agent, Kevin Allyn. He's miffed because he claims the ''Bachelorette'' star stiffed him out of his 20 percent commission for negotiating the $1 million that ABC is paying the couple to air their wedding and its preparations. ''Entertainment Tonight'' reports that he filed a $200,000 breach of contract suit against her on Nov. 19 in Los Angeles Superior Court.

The filing claims that Allyn has brokered other deals for her as well, saying he ''retained publicists at his own expense to help place Rehn in Maxim magazine, provided financial assistance for her housing needs and provided guidance and counseling in her entertainment ventures.'' In July, Allyn reportedly negotiated the contract with ABC (posted online at The Smoking Gun for the four-part ''Trista and Ryan's Wedding'' series, which continues Wednesday with the couple's bachelor and bachelorette parties and concludes with their nuptials on Dec. 10. Says the suit: ''While Rehn understandably might want to keep the $200,000 owed to Allyn as a nice wedding present, basic contract law dictates that Rehn should pay Allyn the monies she owes him and let him choose an appropriate gift from Rehn's wedding registry.'' Rehn has not commented on the suit.

Meanwhile, TV Guide is reporting that 30-year-old Meredith Phillips, who was third runner-up on this fall's edition of ''The Bachelor,'' will follow in Rehn's footsteps and serve as the next Bachelorette. No word on a start date for Phillips' ''Bachelorette'' stint, or whether she's hired a good lawyer.
