'Queer Eye' looking for more
The Fab Five are going to be around for a while.
NBC is close to sewing up a deal that will give its Bravo network 35 to 40 more episodes of the "make better" reality show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."
The network and producers are also expected to give raises to the five stars of the show - Carson Kressley, Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Jai Rodriguez and Thom Filia.
The group has been said to be grousing about the $3,000-per-episode fee they each get for the popular program shown weekly on cable network Bravo and occasionally on NBC.
NBC is under no obligation to sweeten the pot for the show's posse of lifestyle experts, who use their skills to uplift the lives of style-challenged heterosexual men. The unlikely stars are locked into a seven-year contracts.
But once a show becomes a hit - "Queer Eye" is the highest-rated series in the 20-year history of Bravo - networks usually pony up to keep the peace with cast members.
"Everybody wants everybody to be happy," said one person involved in the contract talks.
Still, the "Queer Eye" guys won't be giving the cast of "Friends" any competition in the salary department.
While the show is a hit by cable standards, with about 2.5 million viewers tuned into first-run episodes on Tuesday night since its launch in July, the audience levels are a fraction of such broadcast prime-time hits as "Friends," "Will & Grace" or "Everybody Loves Raymond."
The new deal with "Queer Eye" will compensate the producers and cast at a higher rate for episodes that are shown on NBC, where the series can draw much higher ratings than it does on Bravo.
Meanwhile, new episodes will take the Fab Five outside of New York to improve the lives of straight men in Texas and the Midwest, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
After the first run of episodes finishes in November, viewers won't see a new batch until February.

'Big Brother' and 'Amazing Race' Renewed by CBS
Reality fans helped the networks keep the lights on during the summer, and now, CBS and NBC are thanking viewers by serving up more of the same.
The broadcasters announced renewals for "The Amazing Race," "Big Brother," and "The Restaurant," though there'll probably be some changes in all three shows. Even Simon Cowell's "Cupid," though it failed to win as many hearts as the other shows, may be back next year, CBS reality honcho Ghen Maynard told the Hollywood Reporter.
"Race" has already started casting for its fifth season. Executive producer Bertram van Munster promised "drastic changes" when the show returns to CBS, either in midseason or next summer. He declined to specify but said fans "are going to be in for a big surprise." "Big Brother" producers, coming off the CBS show's highest-rated season yet, also promised new twists next summer.
It's not clear whether star chef Rocco DiSpirito will still be dishing out drama on NBC's "Restaurant." Coproducer Ben Silverman told the Reporter, "We're either going to continue working with Rocco -- and there are incredible story lines that haven't yet been dealt with -- or we're going to launch a new 'Restaurant' with a new chef, and we might even do both."

'Bachelor' Bob Releases a Solo Album
Newly svelte "Bachelor" star Bob Guiney has shed at least 30 pounds and his old rock band, Fat Amy, but he's still trying to make it as a rocker in case, you know, this reality-TV thing falls through. His solo debut CD, called "3 Sides" and released on the indie Marley & Matthew label, will be available starting Oct. 7 on Amazon.com and in stores sometime next year. The official description of the album, as posted on the website, describes Guiney's music as "a sound reminiscent of Matchbox 20 [for whom Fat Amy used to open] meets John Mayer with poignant style and depth."
"I have never quit writing songs," Michigan native Guiney told hometown paper .the Lansing State Journal last week. "I just wasn't performing. The name Fat Amy was kind of a joke anyway. I couldn't use it now, because the band isn't together." Guiney plans to tour in support of the album sometime next year, after his '" Bachelor" duties are over. Don't expect him to dally with groupies, however. [Warning: Spoiler ahead.] With the taping of the series already finished, Bob has apparently chosen a suitor. "I'm not out there philandering about," he told the Journal. "There's only one woman for me."

CBS Planning Big Brother Reunion
CBS is planning a Big Brother reunion on one of its sitcoms. With the CBS reality series having wrapped its fourth season September 24, the network hopes to capitalize on the show's popularity by bringing back nearly a dozen cast members from the last three seasons to guest-star on an upcoming episode of Monday comedy Yes, Dear
The plot will have a "Dear" character somehow end up as a cast member of Big Brother, and one of his friends tries to rescue him. While it's not unusual for reality stars to pop up on scripted series, it's rare for so many to appear on a single program.
Among the "Brother" residents slated to appear: Will Kirby and Hardy Hill from season two and Marcellas Reynolds, Lisa Donahue, Amy Crews and Roddy Mancuso from season three.
Michelle Maradie from this year's edition is already locked in, while winner Jun Song, along with runner-up Alison Irwin and Nathan Marlow and Justin Giovinco have all been approached about appearing.

In more Big Brother news, the Producers of Yes, Dear have contacted several BB Alumni to participate in an upcoming episode of the show. The show will be shot in the Big Brother House, and will show Jimmy Hughes (played by Michael O'Malley) becoming a Houseguest and being greeted by Hardy Hill and Will Kirby (BB2 Houseguests; Will is also the winner of Big Brother 2), as well as other Big Brother Alumni (names like Lisa Donahue and Marcellas Reynolds (both from BB3; Lisa is also the winner of Big Brother 3 are being batted around, as well as Alison Irwin (Big Brother 4's runner-up). The show is set to air sometime in October.
Hardy says that he's excited to return to the set (where he hasn't been in over 2 years) and can't wait to meet up with Will, who he now describes as his "pal". Hardy is the general manager of the prestigious Sky Bar Night Club in Miami, but would like to ditch his Miami digs for an L.A. address, as he has an audition for a role on NBC daytime drama Passions and says he would excitedly take the role if it were offered.

'NEWLYWEDS' HUBBY IS A CHEAPSKATE
Waiters serve him $1,100 meal and split a $14 tip
As viewers of the MTV hit "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica" know, Jessica Simpson loves to spend money. But a recent incident shows that her hubby Nick Lachey is -- well, thrifty!
When the couple had a two-hour lunch at posh restaurant The Ivy in Los Angeles, "they ordered everything under the sun -- appetizers, seafood salads, steak, dessert and a couple of bottles of champagne," said a source.
"They had the entire wait staff catering to their every need. And the bill came to $1,100!
"When it came time to pay, Jessica went to put down what she thought to be a tip worthy of the bill.
"But Nick flipped and told her, 'That's too much! We have to cut corners somewhere.'
"And he left a $14 tip.
"The waiters and manager couldn't believe they left such a small tip!"

Eternal party girl Paris Hilton lives for the limelight - so she must be in heaven now that she has her own prime-time reality series, FOX's The Simple Life. The 22-year-old heiress - her parents Rick and Kathy own the Hilton hotel empire - has been linked romantically to hunks like Leonardo DiCaprio, Edward Furlong and Jared Leto, and is known to parade around in the tiniest, skin-baring designer outfits at the hottest parties in New York and Los Angeles. But on The Simple Life, Paris and galpal Nicole Richie, 21 - daughter of pop star Lionel Richie - won't be slinging Gucci handbags over their shoulders. They'll be slinging cowpies instead, as they share farm chores with the Ledings, a real-life rural family in tiny Altus, Ark. "There's a lot of places where they'd be fishes out of water... but hopefully, [the viewers] will laugh along with us," says producer Mary-Ellis Bunim. (FOX, premiere date to be announced.)

And we are proven wrong...
I'm truly shocked that Jun won. In the beginning, I thought she would. But as the week wore on, and especially after Friday's show aired, I thought Alison had a far better chance than before. I do think Alison played a much better game than Jun, and I think Jun won purely on people's distaste for the way Alison played. And I'm even more shocked that NO ONE hugged them or congratulated them...I mean, even people hugged and congratulated Will and Danielle for crying out loud! lol
Another summer's over, and another Big Brother has come to an end...
Congratulations to Jun Song, winner of Big Brother 4!
Think you have what it takes to be on Big Brother 5?? Click here for more details!

If you haven't watched Paradise Hotel yet, and plan to, you may wanna stop reading right now.
First off, on PH...big surprise that Amy's gone. Anyone that has been watching at least a couple episodes could have predicted that. I almost think she wanted to leave by choosing Keith. Maybe she was ready to go, who knows. Her best bet, absolutely, would have been to pick Scott, but I still think he would have chosen Holly over her. Either way you look at it, Amy was outta there even before tonight's show aired.
And I'm so glad I watched tonight's show...just to have a cliffhanger till next week. Remember the PH finale is Wednesday, October 1st, 8/7c! It's another 2 hour episode, and the "Ultimate Prize" that Amanda keeps speaking of will be revealed. I honestly believe that Keith will keep Dave and Charla. I can't see him voting either out. #1, Charla is Tara's friend...and despite the nails Dave keeps putting in his coffin, I don't think Keith will punish Charla for his mistakes. He hasn't been close to Scott and Holly this entire game, why would he start now? I'm definitely going to go with Dave/Charla and Keith/Tara as the final 2 couples, with Dave and Charla winning it all. I've been predicting that since many weeks ago.
---------
Approximately 20 hours left till the BB4 finale! We here at As The Reality Turns are still predicting a win for Alison, maybe even by a clean sweep. I guess we'll see...in 20 hours and counting!

SEPTEMBER 22--The owners of a $4.5 million Malibu estate are suing the producers of "The Bachelor," claiming that their place was trashed during the month they rented the property to Warner Bros. for the filming of the reality TV show's new season, which debuts Wednesday. According to the below Los Angeles Superior Court complaint, lawyer Kenneth Chyten and his wife this summer rented their Malibu home--which they've dubbed Oceanview Manor--to "The Bachelor" for $45,000. The Chytens claim that when the cast and crew vacated the two-acre spread, they left behind holes in the walls, a rodent and poisonous spider infestation, discarded feminine hygiene products, and other assorted damage and debris. The couple is seeking $5 million in damages.

"FEAR is not a factor for Joe Rogan when it comes to dissing famed funnymen Denis Leary and Robin Williams.
Rogan, the former stand-up comic who hosts "Fear Factor" on NBC and co-hosts "The Man Show" on Comedy Central, told Howard Stern yesterday that Leary and Williams are "bleep-bags" for stealing material from lesser-known comedians.
Rogan repeated his claim that Leary swiped jokes from Bill Hicks, a comedian who died of pancreatic cancer in 1994, and said some stand-ups refuse to be in the same room with Williams.
"Leary stole material from a guy named Bill Hicks," Rogan told Stern. "A late, great comedian who died of cancer. It's pretty common knowledge amongst comedians.
"It's gross, you know," Rogan continued. "It takes so long to work on a bit. You gotta write it, you gotta try it out, you gotta hone it. Then somebody comes along and snags it. It's an agreement - all comics know that thieves are bleep-bags, but the horrible thing is, some guys steal and then they make it."
Leary responded to PAGE SIX: "If Joe Rogan actually knows of a way that you can steal enough material to fill an hour-long HBO special, tell him to let me know how it's done. That way I can stop working my a- - off to come up with ideas not only for my HBO specials, but my frequent appearances on talk shows and television series.
"If Joe Rogan spent less time worrying about my career and more time working on his own, maybe he'd have a job that doesn't involve watching ex-bartenders eat worms."
On Stern's show, Rogan ranted: "I was actually a fan of [Leary]. I saw his comedy and thought he was really funny. And then I saw Bill Hicks and I go, 'Wait a minute, these guys are doing the same jokes - what the hell's going on?'
"And I talked to the old guys in Boston, all the old comics, and it's like, 'Leary's a thief.' They all said it. They all said it. And I was like, 'You gotta be kidding me.' It was crushing because I thought he was really funny."
Rogan said Williams "stole a lot of material, too." He added that he has personally seen comics leave clubs when Williams walks in.
"I've seen that many times," Rogan claimed. "I saw that in a Boston Catch a Rising Star - guys wouldn't go on stage." A spokesman for Williams declined to comment."

Apparently this seasons RW/RR Challenge could be the most competitive ever as The Gauntlet gets set to premiere on Monday, September 29th!
Norman (From the first Real World cast) apparently had SEVEN stitches from an injury he sustained on the Challenge. Norman calls Adam & Veronica (Road Rules alumni) the biggest troublemakers of the bunch, "they will keep you glued to your tv!"
And who says you have to go on a dating show to meet your match? Trishelle (Real World Las Vegas) has "snagged" her man in the form of Mike, from Real World: Back To New York. The two met while filming The Gauntlet. Apparently Mike lasted longer than Trishelle did, but their romance is said to still be going strong.
In non-challenge news, two other soon to be former-Real Worlder's have been making Reality Gossip headlines. Ace & Mallory (from this seasons Real World Paris) are said to be dating, as it was reported that Mallory recently spent a month with Ace in his hometown, where they were seen "kissing and acting generally lovey-dovey". Ace has been quoted as saying that Mallory is "the one".
Big thanks to E!'s Watch With Kristin for most of that scoop! :)

Could we already know the winner of Survivor: Pearl Islands?? Apparently a betting site has seen heavy action from the Vancouver, B.C. area, as two names seem to be getting the most bets for what appears to be 1st and 2nd place.
Sources say Sandra and Osten are being heavily batted around as names of the finalist...so what do you guys think...could we be looking at the Survivor 7 winner of a million dollars and the runner up?

Congrats to The Amazing Race cast and crew on last night's Emmy win!

With the end coming soon for Alison and Jun and Big Brother 4, we'd like to take a stab at how we think the votes will go. Keep in mind that only 7 of the ex HG's are voting. David, Michelle and Amanda will return for finale night, but will not be eligible to vote. So with that said, here's how we think it will go:
Dana: Jun
Justin: Alison
Jee: Alison
Robert: Alison
Erika: Alison
Nathan: Alison
Jack: Alison
I'm taking my guess now that Alison will win BB4. This is based solely on the fact that I feel they will reward game play, and I believe by far, Alison played a far better game than Jun. I'm really shifty on which way Dana will go, I don't think she's happy with either one of the finalists, but I think her contempt for Alison runs a little deeper. Who knows, it could be a clean sweep for Alison. I'll be really shocked if Jun wins BB4, I don't know why, but I'm picturing Richard Hatch and Will Kirby in my mind. What's your opinion? Feel free to use the contact button to your left and tell us!

While one show ends, another begins. On Wednesday, September 24th, Bob is back and so is the season premiere of The Bachelor! You'll be able to check out all of the Bachelorettes competing for his heart when the action begins at 9/8c!

Don't forget the season finale of Big Brother 4 will air this Wednesday, September 24th! Just who will take home the half a million dollar prize....Alison or Jun? Tune in to find out!
As it looks right now there is no show on Tuesday evening, so the finale will be the next and final show for BB4. As always, it is a one hour finale. (ed. I personally think it should be 2 hours, but that's just my opinion!)
-----------
Simple Life (which premieres this fall/winter on Fox) hasn't even aired yet, but we've already got some "dirt" on Paris Hilton. Looks like Ms. Hilton is having a hard time holding Mr. Liquor as pictured here. Some nudity is behind that link, so travel with caution. Thanks so much to GirlFriday for that info! For those that haven't heard of Simple Life yet, check this out.

Over the next few days, we'll be displaying current show links to the right -->

Here we are! At a new location. We've decided not just to focus on Big Brother, but rather all forms of Reality TV! Why do we call ourselves "As the Reality Turns"? Very simple. Reality TV is just another form of soap opera entertainment to us, and we'll be here as often as we can to bring you the latest Reality Television news there is! If you have any info you'd like to share with us about an upcoming/current show, please e-mail us at any time!
Keep checking back, because this site will be updated over time!
